• Use real photos of the actual property, not stock images.
• Set fair, accurate prices — no bait-and-switch.
• Respect tenants and landlords — no harassment, hate speech, or discrimination.
• Keep it legal — no illegal activities, no unlicensed accommodation.

• View before you pay. Never send money before physically inspecting the property.
• Meet in daylight. Bring a friend or family member to viewings.
• Verify the landlord. Ask to see ID and proof of ownership or authority to rent.
• Get it in writing. Always sign a lease agreement — never rely on verbal promises.
• Use safe payment. Pay via bank transfer with a reference. Avoid cash for deposits.
• Watch for red flags: prices too good to be true, urgent pressure to pay, refusal to show the property.

• Screen tenants. Ask for ID, proof of income, and references.
• Meet in person. Never hand over keys without meeting the tenant.
• Use a written lease. Include rules, rent, deposit, and duration.
• Keep records. Save deposit receipts and rent payment history.
• Protect your info. Only share personal details with serious enquiries.
• Get verified. Upload your SA ID or passport to earn the Verified Landlord badge.

If you spot a scam, fake listing, or abusive behaviour, tell us right away.

1. Open the property listing or user profile.
2. Tap Report this listing or Report user.
3. Pick a reason — scam, fake listing, spam, inappropriate content, harassment.
4. Describe what happened and attach screenshots if you have them.
5. Tap Submit — you'll get a notification when we've reviewed it.

Landlords who upload a valid SA ID or passport get a ✓ Verified badge on all listings. Prefer verified landlords whenever possible.

We follow the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). Your personal details — ID, phone, address — are only shared when you choose to contact a landlord. We never sell your data. Read our full Privacy Policy.
